A church for every day, not just
for Sundays
St Andrew’s and St George’s
is a church for every day of the week, not just for Sundays.
Our parish is in the commercial heart of Edinburgh. More than
15,000 people come to work here every day and many more to
meet friends, shop, and visit the many bars and restaurants.
We are a church for all who come to the city centre.
The open church
The church is open from 10am to 3pm Monday
to Friday. You are welcome to step inside to find a quiet
space for individual prayer and reflection, or just to admire
the beautiful ceiling. There is a short
daily meditation at 1pm on weekdays.
The Undercroft Café
Our café in the Undercroft
is open Monday to Friday from 10am - 2.30pm, or until 4.30pm during the festival.
If you're coming by car.... parking restrictions apply
At present there is no curb side parking in George Street, although it will still be possible to park in the central reservation
For members of the Church with blue badges parking is allowed on the kerbside on a Sunday. For members who are bringing people with poor mobility to Church, parking will be possible on the East forecourt of the Church, behind the notice board. Drivers using this facility should display a permit available from the Church Officere inside the Church entrance.
If there are no spaces on the forecourt, and you have a blue badge, you can park on double yellow lines as long as you are not causing an obstruction. Alternatively try the South East Lane off Thistle Street on the North side (the lane behind the church).
